tinkerbell1403 Posted February 22, 2017 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Good morning, Could someone offer me any advice as to how our committee run preschool organisation goes about changing the nominated person? I am the manager of the pre-school and am authorised to have contact on Ofsted's records. Unfortunately, our nominated person needs to resign for personal reasons so it has been suggested that I am elected onto the committee and put forward as the new nominated person.On top of this we are currently in the process of moving to an alternative premises and are awaiting our registration visit which I am aware they will need to interview the nominated person. I have seen lots of threads about changing the nominated person and the requirements for registering for the update service etc but could someone please clarify the correct procedure for changing the nominated person. I have previously completed an EY2 some years ago for a suitable person check. Cait Posted February 22, 2017 Share Posted February 22, 2017 Get your current nominated person to email or write to Ofsted with the setting details and her full name and address, date of birth etc and resign as nominated person. Then do a fresh EY2. You'll need one to go onto the committee in any case. Then your EY2 should allow you to be placed as Nominated person. They state that I am known to Ofsted but have not carried out suitability checks so as you stated I now need to complete the DBS application. It doesn't state clearly however, if I need to do a new EY2 application. It says "If the new Nominated Individual is already known to us as a member of the registered person, then this will be changed on notification. An EY2 form is not required" I think I am going to have to seek further clarification as to whether I will need to complete the EY2. I am known to Ofsted as I have completed a EY2 in the past and are named as permitted to have contact with Ofsted as the manager. Don't forget to complete EY3 form for changes Yes thank you. I was told by O that I didn't need to do an EY3 during a telephone conversation, but as soon as I've had my suitability feedback from O for my new committee, then I will do one anyway - that's always assuming it'll be during this academic year as we are last halfway now and we are still waiting for DBS for two of them! Wow really?! That's crazy. Sorry for all the questions but will you do the health declaration with the EY2? I would much rather send too much information than hold things up for missing something. we have just registered for a move to a new premises and on a tight timeframe so I'm trying to make sure it's all plain sailing my side!
