I like the way that you can click on and see all the phrases they have achieved in an observation but it would be useful to see in a list of all the ones they haven't achieved yet? hopeytg Posted February 16, 2017 Share Posted February 16, 2017 I think this has been asked for before and I agree it is something that would be useful but if I remember correctly Tapestry are not keen as the system could then be used as a 'tick sheet' which is not the intention - I may be wrong and hopefully someone will correct me but I think that is the reason. But you're right, we really don't recommend you rely on the statements as an assessment framework. They are only examples of the kinds of knowledge, skills and behaviour that children might exhibit. We find it useful to look at as more of an evaluation of what we provide in the sense that if lots of children don't have a particular phrase then maybe we don't offer enough opportunities for them to achieve that. I print off a summative assessment for Year cohorts as boys/girls at the end of the half term and then highlighting every aspect for each child that showed progress from the previous half terms, this very quickly shows gaps e.g last time our oldest few boys showed no progress in being imaginative so we are targeting this by enhancing provision to try and engage that group, it takes about 10 mins to run through 50+ chn and 5 mins to see which aspects we need to focus on :-) 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
