Oh dear, we are all about to be hit again!

Our local nursery's has gone up by about 250% £13,000 to £30,000

That means that the estimated annual bill will rise by about £60 a month ....

That's just the first year where there is Transitional relief.

 

By my calculations, once the Transitional Releif period has ended and the rates have scaled up to the full rate, that nursery will be paying a whopping £680 Per month ON TOP of what they are currently paying!

 

This is going to be crippling.

Are they making these huge increases to take nurseries above the planned £15000 exemption? Our rateable value is just below the threshold so I'm really hoping it stays that way. I currently pay £630 a month. I'm in East Anglia.

Clever isn't it? It made the Chancellor look so good giving so many childcare providers and break and making them exempt. Then a few months later increasing their rateable value to just above the threshold. We are just under at the moment so I'm sure we will go up too. :angry:
