Good evening all,

What sort of activities do you put out for CP during the first few weeks? Im in holiday mode and nothing is sounding super fun!

Thank you

Hi Cheslou and welcome to the forum.

Lots of folk have viewed, but there are no replies as yet!

CP is just that, it's the basic stuff that you put out all the time; the sand and water, blocks, jigsaws and cars etc. I'd say just put out your normal structure of the room and look at enhancing it as the week goes on as you see what they are interested in. Maybe put some odd things about and see what reaction you get, so a dinosaur in the doll house, a bear in the train set, that sort of thing.

Hi Cheslou

As above, one or two new younger ones along with the young ones from last term, so back to basics with resources that are familiar to them. Home corner, dolls, pushchairs, playdough, cars/garage, mark-making area, paint, book corner, duplo bricks, jigsaws. Then hopefully if this weather lasts we will be outside.

Hi,

I am a childminder so very small scale, however, if I had all new children I would look at the 'all about me' form and try to put out things that their parents have said they really like and as suggested above just the basic toys I would always have available.

Playdough and water are great because they are often things children don't get to do at home and as an adult it is very easy for you to join in with their play without changing the direction of play, you can just be there doing your thing and chatting with the children.
