Goodbye song?

Does anyone have a favourite song or poem that they sing/say to their school leavers on their last day at nursery/preschool?

We sing so long it's been good to know you.

All our returning children sung it to all our leavers at our recent concert.

Tissues at the ready.:)

The Woody Guthrie song??

That's the one, however we have changed the words so slightly.

So we sing

So long it's been good to know you.so long it's been good to know you,

So long it's been good to know you

And hoping you'll have a good time.

We sing it twice

On the second verse we all wave goodbye to the leavers.

With 3 cheers at the end.

We wave goodbye together, we wave goodbye together, we wave goodbye together as children like to do.

We'll see you again another day, we'll see you again another day, we'll see you again another day, as children like to do.

We put this in their Learning Journey file.

Leaving

To all the boys and girls going to big school.

We would just like to say,

Thank you for coming to play with us

Each and every day.

Together we’ve had lots of fun,

Playing with the toys,

Like Lego and stickle bricks,

Dressing up clothes, for both girls and boys,

There has been sand to dig,

And playdough to squeeze,

Water with jugs and funnels,

Climbing frame and trampoline,

Balls, bikes and tunnels.

We have learnt about sharing and caring,

And being the best of friends,

So although you will be leaving us,

We hope this doesn’t end,

So please come back to visit,

For we will still be here,

Continuing to ‘Learn Through Play’

For at least another year.

So to all of you Good luck and Goodbye

Now we’re going to be brave, as we try not to cry.
