Tapestry allows managers to set their own rules in regards to password security i.e. the minimum number of characters and whether different cases/special characters are compulsory. This tutorial will show you how to edit your preferences regarding that.
You might also want to take a look at this tutorial here, which provides advice on setting up a secure password on Tapestry.
The first step, as with all changes to the settings, is to go to “Control Panel” in the drop down list from your name.
Once you have selected that, you need to click on (1) “Settings”, then (2) “Password Policy”.
When you first go in, the staff settings will be set to a default of a minimum length of 10, but there will be no other stipulations. The relative default settings include other stipulations which you can see below.
In order to change the policy for staff or relatives, click on the appropriate "change minimum standards for.." button.
You then have a choice of choosing a pre-set weak, better or strong password policy, or creating your own custom policy.
Once you have selected your chosen password policy you will need to go to the bottom of the page and select "save".
Once that has been saved, all new passwords for managers and staff will have to meet the criteria set, but current passwords won't change to fall in line with your new preferences.
