Have I made a mess doing my tidying up?

Recommended Posts

Regular users of the FSF will have noticed that I've been tidying up some of the Forums and the resources. I've sorted things into what I think is sensible and I have tried to reflect the EYFS framework. I'm hoping that it will be easier to find themes and topics within the forums. I've noticed that people have been starting new threads in the new forums - I'd be really grateful to get some feedback on what I've been up to!

No, you're not going mad! I think it's simplified ... I haven't deleted anything - if there's things you are particularly trying to find and you can't then give me a shout - you can send me a message on FSF or you can email me rebecca@eyfs.info. Think of it as a treasure hunt ... with lots of treasure!

There's bits for school based provisions, bits for settings and childminders and bits for both sorts of providers. Then there's the (very important) chatty bits and the resources that we all need to help us!

It is really helpful when posts have topic headings that are related to the topic, rather than e.g. 'Please help!"

Good idea - if people don't do this I will add an indicator of what kind of help it is they are after - that also means we can be sure it's in the right place!

I just tend to go straight to 'View new posts' dk I'm afraid I hadn't noticed that anything had changed - except that I'm having to log in every time I visit on the iPad as I'm not continually logged in any more. But I'm sure that's an iPad update thing. (Jolly pifflicating, and if it's a security thing it's rubbish as 'auto fill password' pops up anyway, sigh)

Cait, I think that's what most people do - they go straight to 'view new content'. I'm hoping that people will be able to find where to post things more easily i.e what kind of setting are you? is it a management thing or a teaching and learning thing. We'll see, I'm happy to keep tweaking!

Excellent - making changes when people don't notice the difference is success in my book!

I'm not logged in anymore when I go to Tapestry from email notifications either which I always used as quickest way, and every time I click a link on the forum I have to then respond to a little white box that says open or copy....again this is on the iPad

Mmm, I'll have a word with the 'department who understand these things' - I'll get back to you tomorrow!
