Seems a little excessive - Do you know why?

Are other settings in your area experiencing the same?

Gosh we never see anyone from anywhere these days - unless of course we want to pay for the privilege!

Yes, same thumperrabbit. We never get a visit from anyone.

I ran a breakfast and out of school club 'tacked on' to our full daycare nursery for ten years and it was never inspected once. We stopped offering it last year. Ofsted were fully aware of it and I drew it to the inspectors attention each time we had an early years inspection, but nothing!

Our breakfast and OOSC is just for school age children, as you say Stargrower it's a tack on to our early years provision. Inspectors are never interested so I was surprised when she asked when we were last inspected. It's been running for 9 years now and not a sniff of interest until this week!

Sounds like, the LEA's are getting twitchy! wonder why? We had email to say they're coming to us in Jan to 'moderate' two year checks. better be all their moderating, as like tish, I'm not prepared to change the way i operate MY busisness. Thought the LA inspections were defunct!

After fretting about the visit Friday,he told us that we should have had an email from them to say about the visit....but checked back to Sep...no email...but they also went to 2/3 other settings before us...

just a walk through the setting and answering our many questions about the funding etc....

Also our Special Needs Lady came for 3 hrs thu morning but that was to organise the transition for our

lovely little girls to school next September, but during her visit a call from the LEA to her to check the details we had rung thru after our audit....so they are all in it together,....felt like a pre -Ofsted

visit....xx

Goodness, an LEA with enough staff to make 3 separate visits? Blimey, visits from LEA are rarer than hen's teeth where I am....
