Oksana1975 Posted July 19, 2015 Share Posted July 19, 2015 Hello everyone, I am trying to find information about additional funding for having in a setting a person with Qualified Teacher Status, Early Years Professional Status, Early Years Teacher Status or another suitable level 6 qualification who is working directly with the children. I know that the rates are set during April each year based upon the Early Years Census data collected in January each year but have no idea how much. Does anyone receive it? tracyb46 Posted July 19, 2015 Share Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) We have just hired a lead practitioner EYT/EYP and they get a 5% enhancement if they are working with the children 75% of the time enabling the setting to claim a higher rate of funding per child per hour. Lyanne Posted July 20, 2015 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I'm also in Suffolk - to get a different rate for the funding for 3 & 4 year olds, we need to send a form in to the same place our funding forms go with copies of the certificates for the people working with the children before the 'end' of the previous term. I put 'end' in inverted commas as it's not our end of term, but County's so 31 Aug for changes to apply from Sept. All the info for us is on SCC's CPDonline with the funding forms. Yes I am in Kent. I have contacted the team and was told that "The rates are set during April each year based upon the Early Years Census data collected in January each year. There is an additional element for specific qualifications, including Early Years Teacher Status. However, your rate will remain unchanged until April 2016". Panders Posted July 20, 2015 Share Posted July 20, 2015 I have a funny feeling that any extra per hour a qualified teacher may attract also means you must pay them a qualified teacher's salary, which is fine if say, for argument's sake the owner of the setting is a qualified teacher ( she/he can deny herself the drawings) but if it is a member of staff, I know that my setting just wouldn't make enough to pay it. BroadOaks Posted July 22, 2015 Share Posted July 22, 2015 Yes very different up here in the North West.. . we do get a higher rate for employing an EYP still and if we have enough funded children it can go a long way to paying a percentage of costs involved. So when settings employ EYP, EYT, QTS practitioners in September, they can get higher pay only from April? :blink: Wouldn't you think it would be more consistent around the country? :rolleyes: So which county is currently a paradise for early years practitioners?
