In which of these would an international private school fall into?You might wonder why I ask, but I live in Europe and do not know all the aspects of the English educational system. Susan Posted March 9, 2015 Share Posted March 9, 2015 Maintained schools are usually run with LEA control although we now have Academies which can manage their own finances. Independent schools are independent of LEA control, pupils are fee paying and they may stand alone or be part of a chain. Upsy Daisy Posted March 29, 2015 Share Posted March 29, 2015 Independent schools are subject to inspections from a different body, the Independent Schools Inspectorate, so not subject to Ofsted inspections but they are required to follow the EYFS in the same way as any other Early Years setting.
