local offer

We had an email from our LA in the summer hols in prep for the SEN reforms which we had to fill out and return by end of summer, then we had to go onto the family services directory to complete our details and check what they had transferred from this form onto here. With the 2yr Fel in our area now they are ceasing sending out a list of all providers to qualifying families the onis is now on us (something else to add onto our never ending list ha ha) they pull the info off the site and send it to families so if we are not registered or details out of date we won't be sent out to prospective families.

Think yourself lucky Thumperrabbit ...ours has been a fiasco, kept bombadring us with links to register and complete by 30th Sept...like writing the flipping sef all over again, then another email 'are you ready to submit' ....guess what the link doesn't work, the help line number given people don't have a clue what you're talking about and the person they decide you need to talk to is obviously engaged because the whole of dorset is trying to contact them ggggrrrrrrrr

Sunnyday, Re Kent, I literally stumbled across this today via KELSI but haven't had a chance to see if its relevant or includes Early years etc.

It may be a start.

Then again, it may just confuse me more!

Are you talking about LIFT , and the forms to put in request (old referral)

They are on the Kelsi website I believe

The local offer is what you may be able to access in your area OR maybe I have misunderstood

In our county we were asked to create our own setting based local offer to put on our website. We were given a set of questions or prompts to enable us to do this. So that's what we have done, and put it on the website. I haven't had any information as regards sending it to County so that they can make a Countywide database.

In Essex on our early years website we had a template with prompts to help us put our send provision together, basically for those who are struggling , it's really about what you as a setting provide , how you work with children and parents , how you review progress . Then put this on your own website if you have one and then the LA will collate and this forms part of the local offer. So when parents access available childcare provision they can make their own choices but have the information to hand.
