.........already, how did that come round so fast?

I still have another week of 'holiday' so will spend most of it desperately trying to finish my 'to do' list - actually I think I'm nearly there - probably because I relegated quite a bit to my 'this will never get done' list!

This week I need to tackle cleaning (setting) and just off now to collect all cushions, dressing up outfits etc. etc. to bring home to wash - deep joy!

Onwards and upwards! :1b

I have 4 more days off then INSET day on Friday. I'm spending them in a whirl of domesticity; so far have made Apricot and almond muffins, Tom Yam Gai soup just this morning. I'm sewing away on a skirt to wear to a party at the weekend (haven't done any dressmaking sewing for years!).

I'm also trying to sort out all the things I moved upstairs so that I can find the things I need to work next week.

I'm hopefully going to get a little painting done in the kitchen. Plaster is drying nicely in the living and dining rooms.

I have a back to school haircut booked.

As for school stuff - I'm certain there is some but I honestly have no idea what! I'll have to start collating my random scraps of paper with a 'must do...' note on into a proper to do list!

Sunnyday - you are so good at reminding us of the important things - I love September!

FM - Oh no! Hope the maintenance is over soon.

Narnia - looking forward to hearing about it!

Staff meeting/training today SEND updates so far, children in tomorrow I spent all last week organising this at 6.30 this morning hopped in the shower slipped and totally destroyed the shower on my way to the floor. I have a very technicolor bottom, thigh and back thanks to my warfarin . News from staff 3 of them have split up from their spouses and another is pregnant I will cancel all holidays in future too much time on their hands I think.

Staff meeting today and we are back in on Thursday. Five years plus since our last inspection so we are STILL waiting!! Sods law they come in the first week back. As you may know from my previous moans (posts) my deputy of fourteen years has retired, my other qualified staff member has left and I am determined to shake the rest of the staff up and be more demanding of them. I have had it with people who just want to turn up and do the bare minimum and go home and forget about it all!! I have and still am, making my anxiety and nerves really bad with worrying about school the whole time and I am going to try and let it go a little bit!!! Watch this space.

Happy September and new start of the school year to everyone. Lets hope it's good for us all. :D

Wow! Hope you repair quickly Suewhit, probably take longer to get a plumber to sort out the shower!

Staff are not going to be on top of their game are they? You really will have to have some team bonding events to support each other through these life changing events and all look forward to the birth of a new baby.

thanks guys I would love to say that I feel better but my almost 60yr old bod says different however hubby not too stressed about the shower DIY tomorrow. As for the staff we have a team of 8 so that's a lot of the team a bit pre occupied but we are a nurturing lot and hardy Yorkshire lasses we will all cope. On the plus side Ofsted came in June so we can all breath again . The SEND stuff went down well thanks for all your great input from here onwards and upwards roll on the newbie children.

Yorkshire lassies indeed! Glad you have such a large team, there are only 4 of us - I don't know what we would do!!! We have had only one staff member be pregnant in all the time I have been in pre-school!!! (about 22 years) That was 3 years ago, we now have little Jack at our group and his mum covers for us when we need help.

Definitely September - my order from Sainsbury's Vouchers arrived this morning - Parcel Force driver very kindly tracked me down to my home address - he said "why do they send these out when schools are not back, the bl**dy depot is full of them"! xD

I had to dash up to school last week to take delivery of my new rainbow mat from my active kid order. Good job I only live two minutes away!
