but you knew he was there, iirc you told her their names etc so how is that 'unauthorised'?

Inspectors like that make it a nightmare to do our job! <remembers several examples from own inspections>

Oh Narnia this is ridiculous. I feel so badly for you as you clearly have a wonderful setting. How long have Ofsted got until they respond to your complaint?

I have been sharing the information with my husband about your inspection since you first posted it - He hasn't had to shave since it started because his mouth dropped open and he has been dragging his chin across the ground since then and can't believe the hoops we have to jump through. ;)

I've just searched and read your earlier posts (somehow I missed them first time round!) - absolutely ridiculous and judgemental for them to jump to conclusions and 'assume' that the guy jumped over the wall!

We ALL know what 'assume' does!

can the guy write a written statement for you, stating that he had walked round?

The fact that the inspector never initially suspected that someone would jump over speaks volumes - if it was that obvious she would have surely flagged it immediately on her entering - over-active imagination!

You can have all the policies in the world - but the likelihood of the 'unauthorised' person having read them is slim...and if they want to be in they will be. Having the policy won't stop someone entering - it will say how you would respond (which is a good thing) - shame you knew the builder was on site - if it had been 'unauthorised' then Mrs O would have seen you and your staff leap in to action and rugby tackle them to the ground with a karate kick or two for good measure catching her in the fallout your highly effective response

as for the height of your fence - we have exceptionally high boundaries and years ago the window cleaner used his ladder to climb over because we weren't fast enough to answer the door bell and let him in - he hasn't done it since!

as for the follow up conversation mmmmmmmmmmm!

As just said, if they want to get in - they will find a way. I'm sure everyone else agrees too that you did everything right and they are just being ridiculous. Chin up and good luck with trying to sort it all out, the infuriating thing is another inspector may not have seen an issue at all so would be a totally different outcome x
