One of the girls at my work needs to do a physical activity with babies (under 2's) for her NVQ I was wondering if anyone has some fun and different ideas?
Thanks

is it for any paticular unit , has it got to cover anything specific ?

how about painting their hands and feet and letting them walk, crawl, roll over large sheets of paper as they choose. they love this activity and its great for getting them to experiment with different ways of moving obviously undress them first!!! It is messy but fun!

we left nappies/pants on btw but let them take off trousers and tops so they have freedom to move. babies like this especially especially if you lay them on their backs and let them kick the paper to make different marks. parents like their pictures too when they find out how it was made!

Hi Nicky,

what about a soft play "assault" course?

We set one up at a toddler group using a tunnel to crawl through, a small nursery slide, a ramp to crawl/toddle up, a low bench to balance along, a set of 3 soft steps down, under the parachute, a beanbag to throw into a bucket, a slalom of cones to negotiate....

You could use whatever resources you have available and set it indoors or outdoors.
