Please help. This week i am doing subtraction and our topic is firefighters. I want to do something were children put fires out with a water pistol and then count how many are left. The specifics of an activity are leaving me clueless - any ideas on what can be the 'fire' for children to put out or any activity ideas

Chalk flames?

when we did 'people who help us' we used Red, Yellow and Orange tissue paper drapped over shrubs in the garden the children used squirty bottles filled with water to put the fire out!

could you use pop bottles like skittles and throw ping pong balls at them?

Piece of card/paper folded in an L shape that would fall over without too much force from the water pistol

Painted polystyrene (spelling???) again should fall over quite easily
