Tonight I feel like jacking in the Early Years Professional Status - all of my written tasks have to be in on Thursday - and I am struggling to come up with a title for Written task 1 - I have some thoughts on what I can do - but I have really really had enough.

I dont know why I am writing this really just fed up!!

Hi there - no help at all as I'm not EYP, but thought I'd send you a virtual hug or two, to make you feel a bit better ((xxxx)).

Is it just a title, or a bit more (like the whole thing - wink.gif laugh.gif )

Feel free to moan here, Jo - most of us have at some time!

I'm sorry you're finding it all so overwhelming - I haven't done EYPS so can't help directly but have been in your shoes with my FD sad.gif

Try to take them one task at a time and if you've reached stalemate with one, put it to one side and come back to it later. I also find that wine and chocolate help wink.gif

Hopefully someone from the EYPS crowd will pop along and offer you words of encouragment soon.

Take care

Thanks guys - its so hard to do - with very few people in my locality having done the EYPS thing - I feel a bit alone sometimes and a bit unsupported!

I just hope it is all worth it.

I am trying chocolate but thought I would save the wine till Thurs when I have emailed it over.

Thanks again xx

I have just submitted mine on Mon, and can so understand how you are feeling. In retrospect, I think my written tasks were pretty ropey, but frankly got to the point where I was past caring, so just submitted anyway. The only advice I can give you is just to get somrthing, anything, on paper, and just have a go. My theory is this...better to have had a go, and not get EYPS than to spend the next 10 years wondering If I should have tried. Let's face it, the worst that can happen is a "not met" result.....it wouldn't be the end of the world.....and the upside is I may just have done enough. Only time will tell.

Best of luck....crack on!!

Been there jo, and came through the ther end - about a stone lighter through the worry and stress, but still made it!
You'll find masses of suppport on here - I know I wouldn't have got through without them all!
Just focus, take a breath and it'll come to you. Failing that, post what its about and someone will give you some inspiration!

Well its a bit tricky when I worked with babies I was a lonely childminder (lol) so what I did was create a bit of a network where we used to do things together regularly. Do you think i could do something along those lines??

Obviously as an assessor I would advocate making your written tasks as good as you can, wink.gif but it has to be said that they are only one part of the assessment. There is a lot a candidate can do at the interviews and setting tour, and your documentary evidence file can also fill in the gaps too.

I hope by now you've submitted them and are feeling a bit more positive!
Take care

Agree: I got a 'Not Met' last year and am still here!!! And redoing it and now doing my Tasks...so I REALLY know how pressure feels!!

Tasks do need to relate to something you actively did with children; so starting with the networking would be great, can you give an example of how this fed into the planning and delivery of an activity with a child or children??

You've probably solved it by now anyway!!

Trust me I've had so many days when I've felt like jacking it in, especially 2nd time, putting my family through all the stress again, the financial hardship of taking another year out....

But JUST THINK OF THE PARTY WE CAN HAVE WHEN WE PASS!!!!!

All the very very best
