I am not sure if this is just a cheshire thing but there is an organisation called 'move on', that offers level one and level two maths and/or english training.

level one is equivalent to D-G in GCSE and level two is equivalent to A-C in GCSE.

i started maths training tonight and it was so informative and interesting.

if anyone wants the details then maybe try google, failing that PM me and i can send contact info accross.

That is good news, just to check does anyone know am I right or wrong in thinking these are not acceptable equivalents for entry to teacher training & EYPS. If they are that would be really usefull

yes you are right, these are not equivalent for EYPS, but i am using it as a tool to get some training, then i will sit the maths exam with the university..... beats paying for tutition, LOL

Was going to say the same- apparently its not as 'indepth' as the GCSE (like you need to know Pythag and trigonomentry for early years!) however, it is a good starting point if you are a bit rusty.
