Hi everyone could anyone please suggest suitable winter related activities for 6 months to 8 years. The age range exceeds birth to three making it difficult to differentiate activities and plan around previous experiences. Thank you for any suggestions.
Did you really mean 6months to 8 years or was it a typo?!!!
How about ice play, younger children can explore by senses older children use explorative and investagative skills to explore changes ie ice- water.
Is this the kind of thing you were thinking?

I am not sure about the very young ones but our under 3's (and over 3') love the activity that we had today which was shaving foam in the builders tray with the 'happy land' post office, cars people etc. The houses and cars were made to look like they had snow on the top etc. They rolled the cars through it, made marks etc and generally explored it!!
I also made some discovery gloves with ice (fill glove with water and freeze) If you use clear gloves (not latex though) you can freeze mini winter animals inside them. You could make gloves filled with leaves?, shaving foam (again), hot chocolate power (keeping warm in winter).
I had tinned spagetti, shampoo, rice, etc in mine but thats not winter related.
