Please Help Going Mad!

Does anyone have any advise or know anybody who does?
My computer has basically had a funny!! Now i have sorted that after hours of messing by system restore but now if i need to go on any site even tho familiar to me and put in a password a security certificate comes up warning me not to however i do have an option to bypass it but it recommends i dont!!!
1.What is it?
2.How do I get rid without havng to drastically strip my computer back to basics!!!?
3.Does it sound dodgy should i ignore the warnings?
I humbly await any advise :o :( :lol:

well i'll go to the bottom of my garden!!! :o i was messing with the phishing toolbar and it has gone!!! Panic over! :lol:

The old phishing toolbar - I am of course completely familiar with this. :lol: :o :(
