Hi - really need some inspiration - I need an activity for children to do as a follow up to the carpet session. It needs to be for small groups of children and not take too long as we work with 2 groups of children in the session and only have about 15 minutes or so with each group.

We made simple clocks last time but this required too much adult support and i wanted something that the children can complete by themselves.

Hopefully someone will have brilliant ideas
Thanks

How about a simple zig zag book showing things they do during the day. i have done this with my reception class before and most children completed it independently after an input.

Or sequencing a set of pictures showing different times of the day.

Don't tell me to relax, it is only the tension that is keeping me together.

One of the things we do is see how many times they can write their name before a sand timer runs out or how many apples they can colour in on the tree etc

Play, while it cannot change the external realities of children’s lives, can be a vehicle for children to explore and enjoy their differences and similarities and to create, even for a brief time, a more just world where everyone is an equal and valued participant.
