Hello to all

Does anyone out there have a good 'tried and tested' playdoh recipe ? I made uncooked playdoh and it was horrible ! Far too sticky......despite adding what seemed like a ton of flour. :o

Many Thanks

Denise

Mousebat this is a tried and tested receipe made it Monday/Tuesday with the children. I read out measurements and a few of them remembered them enough to tell their Mums who asked me for receipe. They made it successfully at home.
2 cups cheap plain flour
1 cup salt
1 cup cold water
2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
Flavouring or colouring
Mix it all together. If it is a little sticky form small balls and flour them.
GOOD LUCK

My tried and tested is slighly different. And requires a little gentle cooking in microwave or on the hob.

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1tsp cream of tartar
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water

Stir slowly over gentle heat.

It keeps for ages. :D

We have recently had a discussion on playdough generally which includes several members personal favourite recipes. you will find it here

I think its a case of trying and experimentng until you find the one that wroks fro you :D

Thanks for the replies

I think I'll give the cooked playdoh a try next.
