someone bigger is a lovely story - about a kite that flies off into the sky and takes with it a string of people.
another one about planes is Mr Noisy's plane.
I'm sure I will think of more but I need a drink and a short rest before I can start thinking again

what about Pat Hutchins - the wind blew?
another story about kites is alone in the woods by Ian Beck - a girl takes her bear for a picnic, a kite sails past and the bear catches hold of the string. He flies away and ends up at a teddy bear's picnic.
